 I was born in LaMirada, California, and was raised in Cadott, Wisconsin. My father joined the U.S. Army after I completed fifth grade. I have lived in Georgia, Germany and Texas. I graduated from a Department of Defense High School in Augsburg, Germany, in 1989. I graduated with a bachelor of arts in journalism from the University of Texas at El Paso in December 1994.  I married my husband, Craig, on May 4, 1996, in El Paso, Texas.
