Born in Stratford, Oklahoma and joined USMC at age of 17after graduating highschool in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Served in Vietnam from 1968 through 1970. This was first experiences at traveling and living outside US, in Vietnam, Guam, Japan and Australia. Attended Tulsa Junior College, Oklahoma University and Emporia State university.
Worked in construction until mid 1970's then in Geology and Geophysics field until 1985. Moved to Massachusettes and returned to construction field.
