Debra Baker began writing as a young lady. Her journals were the one place she could hold all of her thoughts. Her Aunt, Helen Oxendine, a Poet herself was a great influence in Debra's talent. Often telling Debra she had a gift. Sixteen years ago Debra took on the challenge of expressing her journals and words written in them, taking and turning them into beautiful poetry. In 2005 Debra was diagnoised with Cancer.After a long battle she is now in remission. However, the Cancer took the majority of her eye sight. She refused to believe her writing career was done with.
