Both, her maternal and paternal grandparents relocated their respective families to Brownsville, Texas from Mexico in the late 1960’s. Her parents relocated to Southern California in the late 1970’s. Her father died at the age of 36, leaving behind a wife and three daughters between the ages of ten and thirteen. Life became an uphill experience from then on. She managed to get motivated and started writing short stories and poetry after her father passed away; later this passion led her straight into college. |
