Background

I have been a scientist and mathematician for over 60 years. I began my life in science as an amateur astronomer in my teen years and moved on to serious study of physics and mathematics. After earning a PhD in mathematical physics I spent 37 years teaching mathematics and physics in universities.
Much of my thinking about science has been founded in the writings of Galileo, Newton, Einstein, Heisenberg, Richard Feynmann and similar theoretical physicists. I learned much from Dr. Stephan Drobot, my adviser and mentor, at the Ohio State University. Two of my favorite books are "Out of my Later Years" by Albert Einstein and "Physics and Philosopy" by Werner Heisenberg. My initial exposure to theoretical physics came through study of "Foundations of Physics" by Henry Margenau and Robert Lindsay.
I have been a Christian and student of theology for the past 35 years.

Additional Information

In March 2008 my latest book "A Matter of Faith" was released and is available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. It is a book about the conflict between science and religion based on a lifetime of thinking about this subject. The writing was motivated by the misunderstandings about science and Christianity exhibited in media commentaries and individual discussions.
