Born in Durham, North Carolina, Bobbye Rucker Terry is the daughter of a former statistics professor and a mother who sang for the USO. Having no singing voice and no aptitude in mathematical statistics, Bobbye worked for ten years as a discharge planner in a regional hospital system and for eighteen years as a home care executive. A fulltime freelance writer, Bobbye has written dozens of articles in national and international magazines. She also writes inspirational poetry, attributing her calling to being the descendant of numerous generations of Methodist preachers traced back to the sixteenth century when Peter Rucker settled in what is now Albemarle County, Virginia. Her first poetry collection, “Comfort From the Storm,” was published in 2004. "Defeating Darkness," will be released in 2005. She has co-authored six novels and short stories in two anthologies with Linda D. Campbell under the pseudonym, Terry Campbell. Bobbye believes that her writing comes from her soul, whether it be inspirational and serious, comedic, screwball humor, in the fantasy realm, or mysterious.
