Author and Poet Darryl J, was born Darryl A. Jones in Torrance California.

As a young man growing up in Los Angeles County Suburbs, Carson California, Darryl J was inspired to share his voice via verse, while remaining a silent force in the backdrop of life. Absorbing valuable lessons and turning each one into positive heart soothing poetry was a natural gift Darryl J managed to embrace many years ago.

Also influenced by his mother, who in fact writes as well, Darryl J aspires to heal crushed hearts and tormented minds, one page at a time through his powerful presentation of poetry and spoken word.

As Darryl J seeks to build the Piece of Mind/ Darryl J Productions Brand; fans local and abroad can anticipate the mastering of spoken word CD’s, book tours, café appearances and signings within the first half of 2011!

Darryl J’s style of verse is very matter of fact, smooth and enriching while allowing just enough edginess to surface so that any poetry lover will be captivated and eager to read more from this talented poet.
