Born and raised in Russia, I came to the States in 1992. I got my Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees in English at Binghamton University. For the past seven years, I've taught American Literature, Creative Writing, and Composition at BU. I am currently a full-time Visiting Professor at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania. Major influences: Professors and poets Liz Rosenberg, Maria Mazziotti Gillan, Ruth Stone; Prose poets, especially Baudelaire; Raymond Carver, Flannery O'Connor, Sherwood Anderson.

Accomplishments: A book of poems, "Five Happy Gypsies," was published by FootHills Press (NY) in 2005.

A chapbook of poems, "Nightshift at Dunkin' Donuts" was released by the same press in 2002.
