I was born in Liverpool in the North West of England, as an eleven year old I went to the liverpool Institute (the same school as Paul McCartney) which was in an old part of town with creepy Georgian and Victorian buildings, it fed my imagination. I also went to view the tomb of the Highgate vampire in Highgate cemetery in London - quite an experience. IN later life it all fed into an obsession with the supernatural and the occult. I tried to become a magician but couldn't even make a card disappear so I gave that up quickly.
My major influences were Bram Stoker and Mary Shelley as well as late night horror movies on TV. Reading about Reverend Montgaue Summers made me want to write about a similar character and thus was born Montague Wynnter (I know, not a big name leap). MOntague Summers was an expert on monster folklore and wrote several books and I suppose his take on vampires and werewolves has directed the way my stories are told.
At the moment I enjoy writing short stories but I am working on a couple of novels as well.
