Background: Macey Baggett Wuesthoff was born in Florence, Alabama. She attended undergraduate school at the University of North Alabama, where she was presented with the Phi Kappa Phi Student Scholars Award for written research. Additionally, she spent one of her last semesters as a public relations intern writer and succeeded in getting several of her articles published by the local and regional media. In 1999, she graduated Magna Cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in Language Arts, secondary education.

In June 2001, Wuesthoff’s horror story “In Death’s Face” placed second in the Philadelphia Writers Conference Short Fiction Contest and was published in the 2001 Philadelphia Writers Conference Anthology. Her magazine article, "When Your Period Has You," also placed second in the 2002 PWC magazine article division, and was published in the 2002 anthology.  Sacrifice, published in 2004 by Amber Quill Press, is her first published novel, but she has completed one other novel not yet under contract, a novella, and is at work on the sequel to Sacrifice.  Other publishers of her short stories and nonfiction works include StoryStation, GothicChristianity.com, The Writers' Journal, and small press anthology compilers. She currently resides in Altamonte Springs, FL, with her husband, Nathan, and their Chihuahuas, Medea, Pandora, and Athena.

My Major Influences:
1) The teachers and professors who taught me much of what I know about writing and/or who encouraged me to pursue it: Mrs. McInish, Mrs. McMurtrie, Dr. Jean Johnson, Dr. Riser, Dr. Gaunder, and Bill Jarnigan.
2) My mother, grandmother, and stepfather, who never stopped believing in my writing, even when I did.
3) Edgar Allen Poe (in my eyes, the Father of Horror)
4) Stephen King (in my eyes, the God of Horror)
5) Nathaniel Hawthorne
6) A long line of well-done horror films, TV shows, novels, & video games.
7) An undying love of writing & horror
