Writing allows me to share with several hundred people my views, experience, hope, concerns, and ideas for improving our world. As an educator, I could do no less than to attempt to connect with the rest of the world through the magical invention of writing.
Birth Place: Port-Au-Prince, Haiti
Accomplishments: On April 26, 2007, 80,000 of you have taken your precious time to read and share your feedback with me. I would like to take a moment to share that accomplishment with you. From the bottom of my heart, "Thank you." I appreciate your taking the time to share your concerns, hope and fears with me. May the spring season bring many positive changes to your life!
Dr. Martin Luther King once said, "When evil men are plotting, good men are planning." Earlier this year, as a few evil men and women are plotting to expel more children from schools into the streets, a few good women and men have joined me in forming a political committee. As of January 1, 2007, the battle to put children first in my school district has been joined while illegal attacks on my professional accomplishments are being fabricated. I am proud to reclaim our rights as citizens to pursue the happiness of our children in my school division, America's most precious resources. I ask for your prayers and your faith as the opponents of a quality public education are plotting day in day out how to get me out of the race. Thank God Almighty! We are still the Home of the Braves and the Land of the Free!
I would like to also note that I served as a delegate for the NEA (National Education Association) in Orlando working on protecting and strengthening public education in the United States through representation of each indidvidual district in our nation (June-July, 2006).
In addition, I spent a significant amount of time working with CISV (Children International Summer Villages) in Knoxville, Tennessee learning and teaching about the various cultures around the globe. The children were between 11 and 12 years of age (July 2006). That experience was an eye-opener and further inspired my heart to continue working for peace and understanding.
Finally, I am excited to share with you that the completion of my new manuscript, "Spinning the globe" is just one chapter away. Stay tuned!
