I was angered at the gall of cancer; how dare it invade my right breast? I did the only thing I could... I retaliated.
I refused to let this disease control every facet of my being. I was tired of being scared and immobilized, shuddering at the very thought of having breast cancer, unable to control my tremblingor my fear. I was tired of waiting for cancer to make its next move.
I had had enough, I felt trapped; I knew I couldn't continue to live like this- it was a do or die situation and I was not ready to die, no way, so I got proactive. I reclaimed control of my life- body, mind and spirit. I started calling the shots in my life again.
I told breast cancer where to go and I started venting on paper. I told (DeMon) cancer that I was dangerous with a pen or a keyboard. DeMon didn't listen so here I am, the author of my first book about fighting breast cancer with a smile on my face and a song in my heart. I won't give it the satisfaction of seeing me scared , helpless or hopeless again.
To Cancer: I'm a survivor!!! I know I am not going to live forever and I don't expect to, however, I want to live while I'm alive. It's my life damn it!!!
My book will empower you to stand on faith and to fight like hell. Smiling Thru the Tears, is a life- affirming book of poetry that will stir the Rocky in you
