I was born in Killyleagh, a small town six miles from the county town of Downpatrick in County Down, Northern Ireland. The only place in the world where you can go up the Down road. I was raised in the backstreets of the town and destined to work in either the local linen mill or as a farm labourer except for the influence of the headmaster of the local elementary school, a Mr James Smith, to whom I am eternally indebted. He recognised in me an aptitude, and through his influence I obtained a scholarship to the high school in Downpatrick. After graduating high school I moved to Birmingham, England for 10 years before emigrating to Toronto, Canada where I graduated as a Certified Management Accountant. I have worked in that field for a few companies and have travelled extensively. I am still living in the Toronto Area with my family, but also have a home in Seminole, Florida where I spend most of the winter.
Accomplishments: I graduated from the University of Toronto with a diploma in Business Administration, and at the same time studied and graduated as a Management Accountant while holding down a full time job. I have also taken several seminars and coarses in various subjects inproving my knowledge and outlook on life.

| | Ultimate Terror, Ultimate Sacrifice by Patrick J McCormick A young boy is found dying from an overdose of his brother's drugs and later a policeman sees his brother running out through the back gate of his home with his father's gun in his hand. When he returns later without the gun and his friend and drug supplier is later found shot twice with the gun lying beside him, the brother would seem the likely suspect for the murder. However the case seems to...

 | Jim, Where Are You. by Patrick J McCormick Jim and Cathy Ferguson were each other’s first and only love. They were very young when they first met, neither had ever even dated anyone else and from that time only had eyes for each other. Graduation from university seems a long way off as they struggle with their love and need for each other while trying to be good against a backdrop of Jim’s religious parents and Cathy’s over protective fa...

A number of years ago I travelled frequently to Halifax, Nova Scotia, and since the newer hotels were frequently busy I had to stay at the Nova Scotian. One cold January night when I was driving along that street going to the hotel I saw a very young girl standing on one of the corners shivering uncontrolably as she waited to find a customer. My heart but not my courage went out to her, and I passed her by, and frequently thereafter I have felt guilt that I did not even bring her into the car for a few minutes to warm up. Everyone I told this story to said I did the right thing, but it did not always ease my guilt. So you see, even though the rest of the story is fiction, that part was true, and the Jim Ferguson at that point in the book was in fact me. Perhaps the terrible outcome of Jim Freguson's and others actions, was in some way my sub-consious attempt to justify my action.
I should also tell you that I have now also started a new story called "A Family Devasted". Although the story will stand on it's own I am using many of the characters from the first book, in the same setting where the tragedy and most of the action took place, along with some new characters, and continuing from where the first finished, with references back to incidents in the first book. This time the background is drugs, and although I have not finished it seems to be flowing reasonably well, and the threads of the plot have come together. Perhaps if the first book is a success it might help the second.
