This history of Dodge County Lodge #72 Free & Accepted Masons was completed this year after ten years of research, compilation and writing. This included books of minutes of meetings going back to 1856, papers and other points of reference going back to 1856.
The author has been secretary/treasurer of Dodge County Lodge #72 for the past 22 years and decided that in order to provide a comprehensive 150 year history of this lodge for its members and the general public, who might have an interest in what occurs in a Masonic lodge over a period of 150 years, that it was necesxsary to take on this project.
Although this 568 page book is a condensation of an 834 unabridged version, it loses none of the story of the 150 year day by day, year by year history of this Wisconsin lodge. The 834 page book has very limited circulation, being published primarily for local distribution to the members of Dodge County Lodge #72..
The condensed version of 568 pages contains all of the story that is in the 834 page book but eliminates areas containing the names, portraits, and rosters of the membership of this lodge The beginning of the year election of officers which takes up to 1/2 page for each year in the unabridged version would not be of any particuolar interest to the reader that lives outside the local area.
This verson, beside bringing the size of the book down, brings the cost down to S34.50 retail for this 568 condensed version and gives the reader the story in its entirety..
Should anyone be interested in more information on the unabridged version that retails for $89.50 in the hard cover and $59.50 in the soft cover, contact can be made with the secretary of the lodge by e-mail at rllarson@charter.net. There is a $5.00 postage and handling charge for shipping.
