Rob began life on May 15, the youngest of nine children in Crossville, Tennessee. Before he was a full one year old, his mother, who was recently divorced, moved with her three smallest children to McMinnville, Tennessee to raise her children alone.
His love for the written word began early in his life at the encouragement of his mother. His mother encouraged him and his sibling to read as much as possible.
He began to dabble with writing also at an early age. When most children his age were requesting the newest toy as Christmas gifts, he requested a typewriter. On Christmas morning, Rob opened his one and only Christmas gift to find a red child’s typewriter waiting on him. However, the joy of that red child’s typewriter was short lived. The typewriter was broken and the store did not have one to replace it. Rob settled for a different Christmas gift that year. That Christmas all those winters ago is one of Rob’s fondest memories.
Many years later, his mother remembers that request all those years ago and bought him a new typewriter. With this typewriter, Rob began to write, and discovered that he loved writing. Although, life would take him in different directions, and he did not get to write as much as he would like he never lost his love for writing.
In December 2001, Rob lost his beloved mother. To deal with this loss, to pass the lonely hours he began to write again. Knowing that she believed in him and his dream, knowing that she encouraged his love for the written word, his first novel is dedicated to her memory.
Rob still resides in McMinnville, Tennessee.
