*** Important Message ***
I just returned from a trip out West to Seattle. I visited my former sweetheart, Kate Farner, whom I haven't seen for 30 years. Six years ago she was diagnosed with MS. She was divorced with two daughters...a 17 year old and an 11 year old. Imagine the hardships...emotionally, physically, financially she has been through. She has had a great support system with family and friends and with the new drug, Tysabril, she is doing better. She gets infusions once a month.
After spending a month in Seattle getting reacquainted, I decided from this day on the total profits from the 2 books I have on this site for sale will be donated in Kate Farners's name to The MS Society.
If you knew Kate you couldn't help but love her. You can read about her here in the 2 short stories I posted. One is from her mother and is titled..."A Mother's Love". The other was written by her oldest daughter, Ash, and is titled..."A Daughter's Love".
Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this and to help out one of lifes truly wonderful people.
Ron
I am Ron Karcz, a Largo, Florida author. I was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, brought up in Longmeadow, and moved with my family to Florida in my last year of high school. After stints in college and business, I later ventured to Idaho where I took up ranching. I learned to play guitar prompting me to write a song, “Back to Idaho”, which was used as a TV and radio Public Service spot for the State of Idaho. This led to a successful career in music, during which I recorded two albums and worked as a producer, writer, recording artist and spokesperson. I also had a successful consulting/production business doing TV ads for businesses. I taught sales, service sales, inter-personal skills, and programs to attain high customer service ratings to auto, RV, and marine dealers. It was at this point, I wrote my first small book; a ‘pocket primer’…Everybody Wants To Go To Heaven (but nobody wants to die!). It was a teaching tool for people starting out in the field of professional sales and it concentrated on the 'basics' everyone forgets.
After twenty-five years of living in the Northwest I returned to Florida where I now reside waiting for the last sun to set.
I'm an avid outdoor person who loves fly fishing, photography, and canoeing. Among my other interests are landscaping, collecting limited edition print art (wildlife, Native American), gourmet cooking, and fine wines...lots of fine wines.
After a few adventures as a result of joining a couple of online dating sites and a few friends contrtibuting some thoughts, I decided to write my book, Smart Blonde. Tony Costa, the main character, has an affinity for only blonde women and is constanly learning why blondes have more fun in life. Tony also has an affinity for letting his mind make dates his body and wallet can't keep.
The Abduction of Adam Danik Based on fact, this book was a 15 year project. It is a compelling, gripping, hard hitting, emotionally charged novel. This work could be listed as a Tragedy or a Travesty on its portrayal of the Civil and Family Court "system". For anyone...doctors, lawyers, mediators, judges, child protective workers, counselors, or anyone who works "in the best interests of the child" this is a must read.
Here is what one reader and a fellow author had to say about The Abduction of Adam Danik....

Family Court Nightmare!, June 23, 2008
The Abduction of Adam Danik is a must read for anyone, but I highly recommended it for people getting a divorce with children! This story is a eye-opener and nightmare from hell that mirrors thousands of divorces in this country every day and the battles fought in the courtroom for the non-custodian parent. There is no justice in Family Court if you don't have a lot of money and the main character, Jack Danik endures years of battles with his unstable ex-wife and her egotistical new husband as he attempts to gain custody of his son and in the end loses everything including his son. His son is abducted by a corrupt justice system. I could not put this book down...it's that good. Ron Karcz did an excellent job describing the incidents that led up to the divorce and the nightmare that followed for Jack Danik. Your heart will ache for this dad who loves his son and trusted what his ex-wife promised him in regards to his visiting rights and child support payments. When you finish this book you'll want to start a grassroots movement to change the current laws in Family Court! |

The Abduction of Adam Danik
by Ron Karcz
Jack Danik makes no excuses for his past. He has weathered some rough times: a lost singing career and minor run-ins with the law. Jack’s biggest heartache is missing his son, Matthew. Occasional companionship ensures Jack’s heart won’t be mangled in another failed marriage or losing a child after divorce. Paula Schultz knows what she wants from life also: she wants Jack. Fifteen years her senior, he is drawn to her; Paula’s determination both amuses and flatters him. Their friends see them as the happiest couple, but Jack soon sees another side to Paula. She turns on the charm at will, but somehow, she seems to just mark time with him. Her disinterest is the sign he needs to end their relationship. Then she drops a bomb: she’s pregnant. Jack cannot lose another child. He asks Paula marry him.
Adam grows into a sweet kid who loves time with his dad. They enjoy boating whenever Jack can pry his wife’s hands off their son. Paula either fights with Jack or acts like a disapproving roommate. She disappears for bizarre shopping trips with her girlfriends. Jack explains away her odd behavior because he wants to keep their family together. His heart breaks, for what he thinks is the final time, when he discovers Paula is cheating on him. She’s chased other men over the years, but Jack can’t keep up the pretenses any longer. He’s been unhappy for too many years and wants a divorce. Paula thwarts Jack’s attempts at an amicable divorce at every turn. Her true behavior blooms, and Adam becomes a playing piece in a devastating game.
In The Abduction of Adam Danik, author Ron Karcz writes of a father’s powerful love for his children and the heartache suffered from lost custody. The story travels from present day to remembrances of past events. The reader will feel the love, desperation, and heartbreak experienced by a non-custodial parent. The Abduction of Adam Danik shows the tragedy when bitter custody cases sever the relationships of parent and child.

Smart Blonde
by Ron Karcz
Is the term "smart blonde" an oxymoron? Or could it turn into the best date ever? Mid-lifer Tony Costa looks for love in his earth-bound purgatory of St. Petersburg, Florida, playground to society’s young and one-step from Heaven for the old. Costa detours from questionable love among bar hops to online dating services. The first possibility titles herself a "smart blonde": an honest, fun-loving nurse who likes dancing, walks on the beach, and a good sense of humor. The sarcastic voice inside Costa’s head trashes the ad’s cheesy lines, but her stats appeal to his basic needs. Costa uses his "Fox-E-Meter": his attractiveness formulation based on a woman’s weight divided by her height. Kiki Swift, a.k.a. Smart Blonde, shows only a slightly higher number than the ideal score of 1.9 or lower. A couple bait-and-hook emails later, they’re off to the dating races.
Costa and Kiki are a match, or at least they’re a good bedroom match. Mid-life hook-ups have baggage, and Kiki’s comes in the form of a philandering boyfriend. Costa enjoys the chase, but his relationships don’t last long after the catch. After he finally gives up the online chase, a woman stumbles into his life. Jennifer Wells, a younger single mom, is camping away her heartache of a lost job, past exes, and an insecure future. Wells watches her almost-ruined camping weekend brighten as Costa assists with outdoor know-how, a good listening ear, and his ever-present humor. Costa can’t believe the real life beauty would claim him a hero. Could this accidental meeting actually bring him true love?
In Smart Blonde, author Ron Karcz writes a humorous story of the differences between men and women in mid-life dating. The book begins with theories of evolution and the power of women over men, a funny twist to establish the main character’s ideas. Karcz uses humor well, in his narrative, dialogue, and unique phrasing. The desires for companionship and sex are described in quick chapters of the newest flavor and latest heartache. Ron Karcz readers will enjoy Smart Blonde, filled with unbelievable twists and sarcastic humor.

| I find it interesting when people read something I've written and email me with a unique understanding of why I wrote what I did and what they felt. She pretty much nailed my feelings when she read, "The Music in My Life" This is from Margie....."I liked it and reading the last part I will add that in true Ron form nobody got one up on you!
I also was moved by the couple of times that you saw or/and felt something so strong that somewhere inside you just knew this moment would never return again. It’s like if only time could stop right there for a while just so that you could savor the moment a little longer. I guess if the feeling of looking up to the mountains and across the fresh spring flowers lasted longer maybe it wouldn’t have been so special. At any rate the way you wrote it made one feel as if this moment was prepared especially for you by God."..........
I'm currently working on two new books...........
You may visit me at MySpace, also. www.myspace.com/rokar44...........
Poetry and music have always gone hand in hand for me. I love reading poetry. However, I love music, also. For me it is the freest form of expression I've ever known. Poetry is "reader" driven words. "Lyrics", on the other hand, are "listener" driven by music. Both, I believe, are a valuable art but saying it in a song is the ultimate high for me. What would this world be like without music and story told in song?......
