  • 'Stop Smoking: Diary of a Quitter' is a book designed to help you quit smoking. If you are a resident of Dundee in Scotland you will apparently be offered a voucher to buy fruit and veg if you can quit smoking for a week. Mmm... tricky choice eh? Buy a book with hot tips on how to get past nicotine withdrawal symptoms of be seduced by the pale flesh of a parsnipI suspect that the council of Dundee have been on the magic mushrooms again. If you really want to quit smoking, see my book section for more details

  • ‘Walking the Path’ My free autobiography, here on Authors Den.

Welcome to the world according to Shane Ward.

I cannot be pigeon-holed, which is just as well because I am not a pigeon and I dislike holes. I feel a well of creative talent searching desperately for a productive outlet. As far as this page goes it is demonstrated in three ways.

I write books, some of which you can even buy. It’s a novel concept I’m sure but Authors are very happy when they hear words like ‘purchase’ and ‘kerching!’ Speaking of novels, I do have a few on the go. Conversely I also have a mortgage on the go and working to pay bills takes precedence over writing.

I write humorous poetry because I want to. One day I intend to write a poetry book with silly poems in it. What do you think? Would you buy an e-book? (e-books save trees and the author even gets to make a profit).

I write music because I have a well of creativity swirling deeply within the Wellington boots of my soul. If music be the food of love – its probably because it has no calories in it. I’ve not had so much as a cheese sandwich out of my music but I continue to write just the same.

'How Do I Become Famous' is an article on this site that hit over 12000 readers in just over a year. Clearly it is a subject that resonates with many people. To become famous you have to start somewhere and even though I should be a famous person by now I am only slightly famous. So I need to up the stakes for 2008 and ask you all to ensure that at least two people you know have my authors den address and read a poem or two. Your continued support is crucial but please share! As long as my reader base grows I promise I will keep adding more stuff.

Please browse as often as you wish. Please also leave a comment if you particularly enjoyed something... …and if you did - most importantly – please share my Authors Den page address with people you know and like. …Actually you don’t even have to like them, just give them the address. If you’re here and don’t know what the address is – it is http://www.authorsden.com/shaneward

Oh, and if you happen to come across one of my books that cost money, then that's great! Go ahead and buy one!

My recommendation for today is my poem 'Old Grump'. If you fell a bit grouchy today this will lift your mood. If it doesn't - raspberries to you then! :-)

Birth Place: London,  United Kingdom

Accomplishments: Read my autobiography for free, "Walking the Path". If one were to submit my story to a soap opera, they would say it was too far fetched to be realistic. Fact is indeed stranger than fiction (and sometimes more entertaining). One can only write about life if they have truly lived it. It also helps to develop a good sense of humour!
