For the past 20 years I've been working as a Television Writer and Producer, but have dabbled with writing fiction on the side. My primary interest is in character motivations, the interior life, and their relationship to the social environment. My major influences are writiers such as Tolstoy, Camus, Orwell, Kesey, Vonnegut, and Faulkner.
Being firmly on the side of the character driven story, I believe that the projection of the reader into the lives and minds of the characters is the most rewarding part of both writing and reading a story. A strong plot and interesting action will flow naturally from interesting characters facing challenging situations.
