My real name is John Joseph and assumed ‘Joy J. Kaimaparamban’ as the pen name. Born on October 1939 in a middle class family of Kerala, the south most state of India. Wrote several works including works for children in Malayalam, my mother tongue. Two of them won awards. Wrote more than 100 short stories.

Information
After education I became a schoolmaster. Worked in several Kerala government schools teaching in middle school classes and retired in 1995. Now residing at Vayalar, a beautiful lakeside village in Alappuzha (Alleppey) district with my wife and two children.
From early childhood I acquired the habit of reading. It grew into the craze of reading all kinds of books, fiction and non-fiction. I could read so many works of the old masters when I was in high school classes. Afterwards I read creations of modern writers. Because of the reading habit, my studies were badly affected by it. Wrote several books including works for children in Malayalam, my mother tongue.
I have been conferred an award in the name of Rabindranath Tagore, established by DC Books Kottayam (1977, for my first novel ‘Urayoorunna Pakalukal’) and Kunkumam Prize (1990, for my novel 'Theerabhoomikal').

My second novel, 'The Ayurvedic Healer' is the story of an Ayurvedic Physician. Ayurveda is, an ancient medical science generated in India. When I thought of writing about an Ayurvedic Physician, I remembered my ancestor, who had converted into Christianity from Brahminhood (An upper division in Hindu religion). Except this fact, remaining narrations are fictitious.
The Seagulls' is my third novel, which depicts the life of the poor fishermen folks living on the shores of Arabian Sea.
I have completed three four more novels.
'The Wildfire' is with the backdrop of a riot, which was occurred following the First World War. It started as a liberty struggle and grew into a big riot causing the killing of numerous innocent people and was suppressed by the military force of Britain who had been ruling India at the time.
'The Dark Lane' is narrating the story of people engaged in the construction of *Suranga and making of **Beedi. (*Surangas are man-made horizontal caves for collecting water for drinking and irrigation. They provide very safe and clean water on gravity flow without dependence on pumps or any fuel or energy. ** Beedi is a thin, South Asian cigarette filled with tobacco flake and wrapped in a tendu leaf tied with a string at one end.)
'The Transfusing Souls' is a mystery novel, which describes the transfusion of a soul from a body to another one.
'The Land of Frogs' is for children. It is the story of a country of frogs. I think it will very interesting to children.
