Being a foster parent for several years has been very influential in my writing. The trials and triumphs I have shared with foster children, biological families, and social workers has had a profound effect on me. I love working with teenagers, especially with those who come from troubled backgrounds. I have taught youth groups at church and have been a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters. The goal of my writing is to give readers something to think about. I want the people who see my books to enjoy reading them - hopefully laugh or cry or get happy or sad while reading, but in the end I want them to walk away enlightened or inspired to take action regarding something they read.

I have currently stopped writing in order to pursue a ministry I feel God has put on my heart. I plan to open a Christian-based boarding school/boys group home in WV for troubled boys throughout the United States. This is a major undertaking for me. I have already came up with a name for the program - I plan to call it BTBA - Bible Thumping Boys Academy. In addition to teaching the boys the basics of Math, English, Language, Reading, Science, Social Studies, etc.... I plan on having the boys memorize scriptures from the KJV 1611 Bible which they will be able to recall later on in their lives when they are faced with difficult decisions/situations. I believe more boarding schools/group homes like this one need to be available because more and more teens are getting themselves into major legal trouble and are being more harmful to society than helpful to it. Bible Thumping Boys Academy
This is a new Christian-based group home for boys located in WV that I am starting up. It will follow the teachings of independent fundamental baptist churches.
