When I was twenty years old I wrote my first novel. I was fortunate enough to have spent some highly entertaining time with Gore Vidal when we were both delagates to the New Party National Convention in Dallas. I gave him a copy of my manuscript. A few weeks later he sent me a postcard from LA and told me he could "not quite give me a C" on the book. The discouragement stayed with me for many years, but I continued to write. I worked as a struggling screenwriter in LA for a while, specializing in dialog coaching.
I eventually published my first novel, AN EMPTY SKY, through CreateSpace in 2010. It has sold thousands of copies and has received some very good reviews. In 2011, I published my second novel, A DREAM AWAY, also to good reviews. In May of 2012, my third novel will be published and I think it is my best work yet. It is called COLORED FLOOD LIGHTS and deals with the ongoing antagonism between the 99% and the 1% and the impact it has on a veteran with PTSD, recently home from his third tour in Afghanistan.
