I'm a spiritual activist, artist and educator determined to help make the world safe for children. My sons are now in their twenties and thriving. I want for all children what I want for my children - to have the tools and courage to beat whatever odds they encounter. That's what my book is about.

My influences are Jesus; George Fox, founder of Quakerism; Rudlf Steiner; Joan of Arc; Emma Lazarus, Paolo Friere, Sylvia Ashton-Warner; Robert Coles; Joseph Renzulli; Frieda Kahlo and Vincent Van Gogh.
Knew I wanted to teach at 8, wrote plays at 10, went to Antioch and studied history and teaching, then discovered drawing. I've been making collaborative murals and plays ever since. Worked with NASA, Department of Interior, the UN and street gangs. Have used project-based learning for 30 years in all academic subjects in rural, urban and suburban areas.
