Starting Poet/ up and coming spoken word speaker

Background Information

I started when i was at the age of 8. I used to rap when i was in the boys and girls club and numerous other summer programs. Lately with raps decline in actual skill and intellect, I withdrew. Slowly regressing back to the basics of Jazz and R&B , with additional spoken word influences like common and Mos Def. I think that I may have found my calling in the poetic/spokenword scene. I'm relatively new so i'm taking my developing talent one step at a time so bear with me and wish me luck as i'll do the same for you.
