I am passionate about writing and painting. I think it comes from my Irish upbringing. My previous books have all had a strong Irish theme until I wrote The House Where No Bird Sings, a psychological thriller sent in the North East of England. If you like the story please do comment on the website. Slainte

Background Information

The major influence in my life has been my passion for Ireland, its people and its culture.  We like to record our history in song and story.  'I grew up listening to the tales of deeds long past and the folklore and legends of Ireland.  Many a night was passed sitting around the turf fire listening to friends and neighbours tell their own personal tales. Ireland is steeped in history and much of our culture is entwined with folklore I like nothing better than to bring some of this colourful to my readers.  I hope you enjoy my stories and look forward to hearing from you all.

When I wrote Ireland Land of Saints, Scholars and Legends I captured the essense of those evenings in the stories.  My second book Nobody 's Child told of the story of Aine and Molly Murphy and their journey throughout the period of the infamous famine, their abandonment to the workhouse and their eventual passage on the dreaded coffin ships to the shores of America.....not a dirge just a story straight from an Irish heart.

Finally, my third book The House Where No Bird Sings was a complete change in genre, it is a psychological thriller set in the UK.  t!is is my first full novel, check it out and I hope you enjoy reading it!

Accomplishments

I suppose my greatest achievements are my three children, they have given me so much to be proud of.

I have been co author in a medical submission which was published in a well known medical journal on two occasions.

I have a high standard of education and have a number of certificates in my portfolio.

Additional Information

Good news that I would like to share is the fact that I have now been judged as having a flare for writing children's stories. I am about to pen my first children's book....watch this space!
