My daughter Madison was born on Christmas Day 2009 without complication. Two days later, she was fighting for her life and was suffering from an unknown condition. Madison was seen in three other hospitals before landing in the NICU at St. Mary's Hospital (an affiliate of Mayo Clinic) in Rochester, MN. Madison is eventually diagnosed with CPS, a relatively unknown genetic, metabolic condition. This marks the beginning of the struggle to find a treatment that will keep Madison stable while waiting to get her on the liver transplant list, which is the only known cure for this condition.
