Lyda was born in California during the late 1960s, and--even though she was saddled with an unusual first name--she is extremely grateful not to be "Sunbeam" or "Moonflower." Lyda (pronounced Lie-dah) is strange enough, but as the people of her adopted new home in Minnesota are fond of saying, "Could be worse."
Lyda Morehouse caught the sci-fi bug watching Star Wars on the big screen in the late 70s. Though she's been busily scribbling in notebooks ever since, she's started writing professionally in the past few years and is currently looking forward to the release in May 2001 of her first novel (Archangel Protocol) from Roc, an imprint of Penguin Putnam.
