Jaxson has been writing poetry for over twenty years mostly for his own edification, but he would occasionally share his work with close friends.
It was only through his efforts to assist a friend with his dreams of becoming a published children's author that Jaxson discovered a publisher for poetry. On a whim he submitted a sample of his writings and to his surprise, he received a letter from the publisher with an offer to publish his book.
This was a shock to Jaxson, one he was not prepared for. He now had to take all his hand-written poetry and create a manuscript. Three days of typing ensued and he managed to create a rough draft to send to the publisher.
Becoming a published poet opened many doors for Jaxson and he grew not only as poet but as a person as well. He gained many friends in the industry and each of them taught him more and more about his craft and how to refine and perfect his work.
Jaxson has been on a hiatus for a few years but is now back and has released his third book, The Heart of the Phoenix.
