Hello, loyal readers--Welcome to AuthorsDen. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate all the love and support you have shown me.
After 34 years, I retired from the United States government. My husband, Lamont, and I moved from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area to central Florida. We live in a retirement community called The Villages, Florida. We have two beautiful daughters, Nicole who lives in Washington, D.C. and Natalie lives in Chicago, Illinois.
My passion is writing. When I was a young girl I was told that I needed to find another career because an author doesn't make money. I have to say, my teacher and parents were right--authors write because they like it.
I had a wonderful, successful career working for the United States government until I retired. Despite my success I knew something was missing. As part of my job, I traveled all over the United States. To occupy the empty hours away from my family, I wrote novels. I submitted them to publishers and received nothing, but rejection letters.
Finally, at the age of 60, my first book was published in January 2006--Sunday Golf. Don't let anyone discourage your dreams.

With the success of Sunday Golf, I have become a guest speaker at clubs, organizations, and the public library. I also conduct workshops.
I love to motive, help, and share information. I started a small writing group--Writers Supporting Writers. The main focus of the forum is sharing information as well as critiquing each others work. Through my encouragement, in 2007, two writers have become published.
I believe in giving back to the community. When someone buys one of my works, they help someone in need. With every book that I sell I donate proceeds to the Florida Wildwood Food Pantry as well as other charitable organization that help others.
