For 35 years only Ann's husband called her "Annie," meaning "Honey." After he died she decided to be Annie forever.

Background Information

Annie started writing for her brother's mimeographed newspaper by the age of 6, and began married life as co-editor of her husband's small weekly. She continued to write for anyone who would let her while a stay-at-home Mom. She got her degree in Journalism at age 45 when her youngest left home.

At age 29 Annie and a newly widowed friend outlined an ideal widowhood book, but it didn't become reality until after Annie was widowed at age 55. Only widows really know widowhood! The subject is now her passion and her mission in life.

She published her first book, "For Widows Only!", in 2003 and is currently working on a second one, due out in 2009 (she hopes). Accomplishments

In addition to receiving awards for scholarship, Annie proved herself a do-gooder or people-helper by the age of 15 and she never got over it. She works bloody hard for liberal causes now and to provide support for widows in general.

Additional Information

Her writing and her need to help others culminated in publication of her book, For Widows Only! in 2003. She has devoted her time since then to promoting the book and helping widows however she can. A second book is nagging at her but hasn't made it yet to paper.
