If I could write all day and get paid for it, life would be perfect. Making up stories is the most fun a person can have.

Background Information

From the age of four, when I hadn't quite learned my ABCs, I picked up books and pretended to read. Yet as much as I loved books, it never occured to me that I wanted to be a writer. My neice, who happens to be the same age as I am, told me she would be a writer when she grew up. I remember feeling a pang of longing as if I wanted that desire, but couldn't have it. It wasn't until I was in eighth grade and my English teacher gave us journals to write in for the school year, that I realized it was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life. At thirteen, I discovered Harlequin Romances. I'd have a Harlequin in one hand and a pocket dictionary in the other so I could look up unfamilier words. I still laugh at home I annoyed my family when I decided to use the new words in my daily vocbulary. At eighteen, I wrote two full length novels and a bunch of short stories. One of my short stories was rejected by a magazine I'd submitted to and I promptly destroyed my novels and never wrote again until I was 37. How sad. Now, I am launching my own e-publishing business and working on a couple of new novels. I'd like to believe that my writing ability has improved since I am also now majoring in English in college. We'll see. Please visit my site at www.amirapress.com should you have the chance. Thanks for reading.
