Background Information

Often I wondered what my true

purpose was in life.

I prayed so hard to God, I asked Him

to please show me what it was.

I was given the answer the

very next morning.

"My calling is to definitely write"

To share beauty and love

with the world...

To shine some light upon ones life

who sees nothing but darkness.

To be able to touch ones heart

and soul in some small way.

Means the world to me.

I have been writing my whole life.

Never did I realize that it

was my calling.

Back in my teen days my friends

always asked me to write poetry

for them, so they could give it

to their boyfriends.

Of course they always took the

credit for writing them...

Which I always took as

a wonderful compliment.

I am the proud daughter

of deaf mutes.
( both deceased)

They're world of silence has contributed

so much to my writing.

~*~

I was born in Chicago on Dec.15th.

I'm also a single mother of

three grown sons.

My eldest son committed suicide

on Christmas eve of 1993...

If not for my passion of writing

& my strong faith in God,

I seriously doubt that I would of

survived my brokenheart.

Writing has always been

my greatest form of therapy...

I prefer to write "simple" poetry...

so that everyone can understand

the meaning...without turning to

a dictionary to understand my words...

This way everyone can enjoy it so much more.

"Hey, Not everyone is a rocket engineer." :)

I write straight from my

heart and soul.

Some of my poems are based on

actual events that took place

in my life.

~*~

I am a graduate from the

school of hard knocks.

I firmly believe..It is not

important how many times one

has fallen,

But, what does matter most of all,

"Is how many times we pick ourselves

back up..."

With each fall that we endure

through life,

There is a lesson to be learned.

As we pick ourselves up,

We manage to bounce back much wiser

And so much stronger.

I also strongly believe that

suffering is purification

of the soul..

For when we are faced with

a dreadful tragedy in life,

We begin to reflect so deep within

our heart and soul.

We begin to sense a spiritual

connection with God.

Much of my inspiration

comes from my son Billy,

my best friend Dottie.

"But most of all from God."

For they have always believed in me...

Even in times when I did not

believe in myself.

They never gave up on me...

They have been my life line...

I love them so dearly...

Accomplishments

My greatest achievement in life

I would have to say,

Is when I was my father's caregiver.

Dad lived with me for eight years.

Until the day that he passed away

at home on Dec.29,1999...

The day before my deceased mothers
Birthday."Kind of ironic."

Dad suffered with dementia...

There were times when it became so
difficult, it was a real challenge.

But, through it all I have learned so much
about life, "patience, but most of all

love and compassion".

I have received several awards

for my poetry.

Five of my poems have been

published in anthologies...

Also, I am published in the

"Still Horizons"

and "Mirage"

I have written for several greeting card
sites as well.
