After retiring from 26-years active duty in the United States Coast Guard, he's continued to grow in the literary field. His short story, The Rocking Chair, won first place in the national 2003 Otherworlds Sci-Fi short story contest. His first novel, Chronicles of the HEDGE, received 5-star reviews on Amazon.com.

In a review of his latest novel, The Man Who Saved Christmas, Deborah Tompkins Johnson wrote in a Washington, DC suburb newspaper, The Potomac News - Manassas Journal Messenger, that the “author has taken the debate over Christmas decorations - the nativity in particular, and other religious symbols like the cross and the Star of David - and uses wit, shock and even a bit of humor to register his stance in the debate.”
