Should there be only one person Who'll need poetry I'll continue writing And I won't stop Should that only person be me

Background Information

I'm a recent transplant in Los Angeles from Yerevan, Armenia. I arrived in the U.S. 508 years after Columbus and my first culture shock was my first name, Karen. This ancient Parthian male name appears to be a female one in the U.S. But it frustrated me in no way. A womanizer that I am, my first name is all I love about myself whenever I feel lonely.

Birth Place
Yerevan,  Armenia
Accomplishments

"X Frames/Sec," a novel published in 2003, Armenia
The writer of the year 2003 in Armenia
Young Artists Award 2004 for "Password," a novel

Additional Information

My works are about you, him, her, us, them, myself. And, to be more specific, they are about the beings hidden behind these pronouns and the spaces in between them. In this respect, the issue of communication comes up in the foreground. The problem of communication becomes even more urgent in a sense that, paradoxically, along with the rapid development of high-tech suffers the communication itself, the interpersonal communication unmediated by technique. Man communicates more with telecommunication than with another man. man does more for money than for another man, than for himself. If the human society has been considered a consuming one since the second half of the XX century, today the tendency is changing, and, as a result, we have a consumable society, a society that is consumed by the gadget and not the reverse. It seems senseless to impede all this, however, the realisation of this state of affairs is a necessity. The realisation is a generator of changes. My literature is an elementary particle of the huge structure stimulating that realisation, a particle that is trying to bring fresh life to the Poetry of existence. Taking account of the inevitability of the society’s consumability, let then Poetry consume people thereby immortalising them.
