Having done wildlife rescue and rehabbing, I have come against many confused homeowners regarding the different wildlife. The belief that all wildlife attack and have rabies is a common misunderstanding and a dangerous one for all concerned. This book is the product of the homeowners and general publics fears and lack of knowledge in knowing how to handle situations involving wildlife. Education is the key to all understanding. This book educates in learning how to cope and humanely handle common situations around your home and property. I hold a Special Shelter permit with California Fish and Game.
We had an early start this year with wildlife calls, especially with mama's wanting to take shelter to have their young under homes and in garages.
Once again, I am pleased to be actively helping the public with nuisance wildlife problems by telephone as well as presentations.
Please join us in recognizing June 14th. as National Skunk Day.....

I have both personal and business achievements, however, I am always working towards more. This book is a great personal achievement.
I am now a Certified sworn in Animal Disaster Volunteer and should there be a need to respond, I will help in the wildlife section. However, I hope our services are never needed.

I worked as part of a team in a case handled by California Fish and Game which set a presidence in how skunks would be handled when confiscated or surrendered to the California Department of Fish and Game.
I have worked closely with our local Animal Control Departments and Vets in sharing knowledge regarding the safe handling of wildlife, so that euthanasia is not an automatic answer.
While most comfortable working with skunks, raccoons, squirrels and opossums, I have also had the pleasure of working with a variety of primates including the well known chimpanzee "Moe".
I was invited for an interview by one of the major news channels to give advice regarding the seemingly growing population of skunks. It was an excellent opportunity to get positive information to the public.
To continue my exposure for the benefit of the wildlife, I have given presentations to groups and homeowners and there are many flyers available throughout the area. It is important to me to continue to teach everyone to Respect and Protect our Wildlife.
