I grew up with the ocean breeze in a small town on the East Coast. I am the daughter of a musician and I used to sing with my father, which gave me a love for music and the words. Poetry has always been a passion of mine but I never applied myself to writing until I returned to college. I started putting my feelings down and sharing with my friends and family. Soon the words started flowing. My style of writing is considered a form of lyrical poetry that crosses between polyrhythmic poetry and free verse, a form of cadanced prose. I enjoy free verse, open form, prose and nontraditional rhyming poetry. I am happily married, a mother of two, and a grandmother of five. I write my poetry from my friends and family's lives as well as my own life. Sometimes I will see something that makes me want to write a poem. I write as a hobby and try to avoid logic, leaving the mind to think and imagine in a lot of my writing. It is my escape from my structured life.
