I remember as an 8th grader at Cochrane Middle School in Charlotte NC my teacher asked me to write for the school newsletter. I did not hesitate and the first article was brilliant, I got many congrats and a job well done from fellow classmates and teachers. I always had a love for writing and the language that makes up a profound story. In 2001, a friend of mine told me to put it on paper, and I did. My self-esteem was low and my relationship with men was even lower. Sex, promoscuity and rape allowed me to address the issues that invaded my life. It was all a choice, and behind the choices I chose in my life, left me with a positive HIV result in 2003. Later told I was now living with AIDS! Put It On Paper is my debut memoir based on my life before HIV and after AIDS. After my boldness set in to Speak Out and Speak Up on the matter I incorporated the Rasberrirose Foundation Inc. www.rasberrirose.org a nonprofit for young ladies suffering from self-esteem issues, with the focus of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness. Being a strong advocate in the HIV community and motivational speaker allows me to journal even more on the facts and issues that not only affect me but others living and or at risk for this 100% preventable disease. Magic Johnson has been an inspiration to me, but my mother has been the hero through it all. I thank God for the opportunity for life love and understanding...Greetings to you all and know that this will not be the last you hear from me.
