First time author David Giardina’s new book on health and the mythologies surrounding disease called, “A BANANA IN MY POCKET (but I’m still happy to see you)” goes beyond Michael Moore and is rattling more than a few cages.
Mr. Giardina was born in 1962. He comes from a family of doctors, nurses and scientists. He vever pursued the medical or science professions himself but rather became a writer, award-winning filmmaker, model and singer. But in the 1990’s while moving towards a vegetarian lifestyle he began to make some startling discoveries about how the body truly operates and what actually makes us healthy and sick. One such discovery was that germs and viruses do not cause disease. And that is just for starters. This prompted Mr. Giardina to keep researching, reading, going to lectures, interviewing top medical, science and media professionals including Dr. Peter Duesburg, Dr. Robert Giraldo and Celia Farber. It also prompted him to use himself as his own laboratory and to get his own results.
World-respected medical physician and naturopath Dr. Leonard Coldwell NMD ND PHD comments: “David’s words cut through the complexities of our healthcare, or better said, disease care system, and get right to the point. He is certainly not afraid to say what he thinks!”
“A BANANA IN MY POCKET” came about after Mr. Giardina showed his teenaged filmmaking class a short trailer for his upcoming documentary on health called “Probable Cause”. One of the young students had some very challenging questions to ask based upon what he saw in the trailer and he started emailing these questions to Mr. Giardina. Mr. Giardina, in turn, answered each question thoroughly, providing reference links for further study. That email discourse led to the present version of this book.
Mr. Giardina explains: “I assure you we don't become sick due to Prozac or Purple Pill deficiencies...More than anything I want to encourage you, to paraphrase Albert Einstein, to never stop questioning. By NOT questioning and simply going along with what “they” say, we relinquish our autonomy and live much much less as a result.” The book reveals clearly how this relates to all areas of ones life, including health.
“A BANANA IN MY POCKET (but I’m still happy to see you)” is rich with reference links to free online books, articles and journals for further research. It also contains a practical and concise plan for achieving and maintaining health, happiness and fulfillment in one’s life.
