I can be anything, or anyone, I want to be, so I enjoy being a gifted thirteen year old girl, or a talking horse, or a stinky spider, or a hip pig, or a best friend dog, or a smart aleck cow, or a co-author cat, but mostly, I just like to be me reading a good book.

I have been writing since I learned to hold a pencil. Poetry was always a favorite while I was younger, then I started writing short stories, leading up to novels. I love writing and fully enjoy becoming my characters and living through their experiences. Sometimes I think I would rather write than breath and have been known to abandon all normal and necessary behaviors like eating, drinking or bathing (pyew) when I really get into my writing. I've had to limit my sit down time to an hour at a time and teach myself to stop at places in my stories that allow me to return easily, in order to keep from starving, thirsting or stinking. It's very difficult to quit writing. I guess you could say I'm addicted!
Currently, I am also a very addicted reader, especially to Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas series--I loved Boo and Elvis. I also enjoy other authors, like Lillian Jackson Braun, Nora Roberts, Stephen King, Nicholas Sparks, John Sanford and books with Native American themes, like the Grears' People series.
I have many favorite children's authors, too many to mention, but a few of which are Margaret Peterson Haddix, Maya Angelou, Laurence Yep and Bruce Coville. My library is overfilled with books of all types as I am an avid reader and have rarely found a book I didn't enjoy to some extent. In every book there is something to learn about life, history, people, animals and just about any other subject.
I love nature and always try to include some natural aspects or ideas in my stories, most of which include at least one animal character.

My goal for the New Year is to have four new books published by my own publishing company! I've been working very hard on this goal since the first, and the manuscripts are complete, covers are designed and the pagination is finished.
Although two of the manuscripts have received positive feedback and requests for second review after revision, one request from an editor, the other from an agent, I think it's time for me to fly on my own! I just might meet or exceed my goal this year!
