My family moved to Canada when I was two years old. I consider myself extemely fortunate to have met excellent teachers and wonderful students who have made my career as a teacher so positive. I believe that challenging concepts in mathematics can be explained in such a way that students can read and understand themselves. Of course, this must be combined with offering problems without the usual repetition. This style is reflected in our Calculus Textbook. I owe a great debt of gratitude to my co-author and mentor Roger Allen. He has influenced my teaching over the years through his outstanding skill in problem creation and never settling for less in creating materials for students.
