A humble Italian upbringing in a hut housing eight children who were fed pasta, hard work, Mario Lanza, and blues/pop and jazz recordings. Inspired early-on by great writers such as Toni Morrison, John Steinbeck, Mark Twain, Anya Seton, and (later on) Nicholas Sparks, Kaye Gibbons and Barbara Delinsky, who are still her "major influences." In her high school years, she fell madly in love with books and movies, and the spell has yet to be broken. Her first published novel (A 1960s era romance) entitled "The Dream Garden" was released by Crystal Dreams Publications in 2003. An illustrated book of poetry, entitled: "Anna-Versery" was released by GAPublications, in the same year. A 2nd children's book "Crazy Pen," is now available on these sites: www.booksurge.com and http://www.starimagepublishing.com/ , and on http://www.authorsden.com/annamariefritz in the Author's Den Bookstore. "Anna-Versery 2" is now available for order, at a discount, in the Authors Den site, as well as the Star Image Publishing site.
"Loony in The Boonies" is scheduled for release in the near future, by Star Image Publishing. .Anna Marie is a member of The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, The Newspaper Institute of America, Author's Den, The NUW Book Club, and a contributing editor to Wishigan Outdoors Magazine (a regional journal for Wisconsin and Michigan)..
She was once on the "fine art circuit," winning local and state awards. Two of her paintings achieved gallery status. She designs book covers for herself and others.
Before she "settled into" a writing career, she was a jazz-pop singer who toured the United States with many different groups. At times, when she needed to "break away," she joined summer theatre companies, as an actress and dancer, or hung out at after-hours clubs with Blues bands. Much of her favorite music is still the blues, and she has an extensive collection, some of it from people she used to "jive" with.
She makes her home in Wisconsin, near Green Bay.
