"Take down the dulcimer, let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kiss the ground." -Rumi

Background Information

Thank you for reading!

I think writing is a wonderful release for the soul.  Writing is new to me, a new adventure, really.  I'm a musician who has been writing poetry for the joy of it.  My inspirations are Music, Pablo Neruda, Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver, Joan Borysenko, Elizabeth Lesser, Billy Collins, Rita Dove, Galway Kinnell, Rumi, a lot of little hairy bunny rabbits, and diverse Scriptural writings.  So much of poetry feels like music, and music like poetry ~ and to me one lights up the other.  My philosophy is that every breath is a gift.

The fire in my soul, wonderful connections with people I love.
“There is a certain amount of kindness, just as there is a certain amount of light. . . . We cast a shadow on something wherever we stand, and it is no good moving from place to place to save things; because the shadow always follows. Choose a place where you won’t do harm—yes, choose a place where you won’t do very much harm, and stand in it for all you are worth, facing the sunshine.”

–Mr. Emerson, A Room with a View, E.M. Forster

"Math was my worst subject. I couldn't persuade any of my teachers that my answers were ironic." - Calvin Trillin

Additional Information

My poems are published in "THRUSH Poetry Journal," "Cyclamens and Swords," "Blue Lake Review," "Vine Leaves Literary Journal," "Pyrta," the Autumn Equinox issue of "Mused," "The Bark," "Utmost Christian Poet," "Defenestration," "Eunoia Review," "The Legendary Poetry Magazine," "The Weekenders Magazine," "The Camel Saloon," "Of Sun and Sand Anthology," "The Rusty Nail," "The Artistic Muse," "Requiem Magazine," "Big River Poetry Review," "Broad!," "The Montucky Review," and a few other journals and anthologies, and are forthcoming in "Emerge Literary Journal." My newest collection of poetry is titled "Cellography" and has been published this year by "Vine Leaves Press." I'm still a little wide eyed that these publications took my poems :)
