I am a professional writer. I have been such for a good many years with a number of out of print books in the fiction and non-fiction genre. A number have been national bestsellers. I have been making my living through writing for 30 years, and although I no longer need the money, I still need to write. It is a sharing that I enjoy, and a need to put stories and words and thoughts onto paper (or into a computer these days). I write to share with others. Whether they like my works or not (mind you I do have a tendency to catalogue those who claim they hate my work as morons - which, of course, they are). My major influences, I suppose, have been John Steinbeck and Kurt Vonnegut Jr. even though I have not stylized myself in either of their molds. I just liked their works and they in turn inspired me to write. A grade 12 teacher did likewise when he submitted one of my works to a publisher who happily paid me money for the right to publish it.

I have won a great many awards for my writing and been honored by my peers. In truth, it is nice to be honored and be given awards, but that was never my goal in writing. It was and always will be to write and have my works read by others.

I am currently working with other writers, young writers, and helping them to establish themselves as authors. To that end a non-profit publishing house (of which I do not market my own works) is being created to feature worthy new writers. Currently 28 new authors have been published.
