There is only one major influence in my life, and that was the man who gave an 11 yr old girl (me)a quarter to buy the ice cream that she wanted. I only saw him out of the corner of my eye, because it shocked me that someone would do that. But what I saw, was am man with long brown hair and a robe. When I turned to thank him, he was gone without a trace. Another person who inspired me to try writing poetry, is my sister, Kristian Mahrling. Though I will never have half the talent she posseses, I thank her for her encouragement, love, and tolerance. Thanks Sis.

My greatest achievements are my three children and grandaughter. My eldest daughter is in medical school and my middle daughter is my granddaughter' nanny while her mommy is in school. My son isn in the navy and wears the uniform with extreme pride. If there is nothing that I accomplish again in life, I am ever thankful and blessed to have children who are caring, decent, and great friends. A husband who adores me, and a fantastic son-in-law who puts up with my eccentricities.
