Aubrey Hammack has an M.Ed and 25 plus years as a mental health professional. This work has involved individual, family, group, crisis managment, and child and adolescent counseling. Also has worked in crisis management in the ER of a local hospital for several years. His work has involved court systems performing mental status and psychological evaluations, behavior management plans and as a Psychological Consultant.
Aubrey joined Authors Den in 2002 writing articles primarily on mental health topics. Has written a monthly newspaper column for 8 years writing on mental health topics primarily.. He also had a television show in Macon, Georgia for 8 years on WCOX-TV called Keeping In Touch With Your Mental Health. For 6 years he hosted a mental health radio program called Our Community in Thomaston, Georgia on WSFT Radio.
These television and radio programs saw guests in many outstanding professions such as Psychiatry, Psychology, and Social Work as well as others such as Arnold Graton, Jr., the famous covered bridge builder, legendary high school football coach, Billy Henderson, Georgia's Secretary of State Max Cleland and later United States Senator, Georgia musician, Emma Kelly (Georgia Music Hall of Famer) and numerous others.
Aubrey has also written a couple of articles for Georgia Backroads Magazine, which were published in 2009 and 2011. The first was on the Auchumpkee Creek Covered Bridge near Thomaston, Georgia and the second was on the Old Mill Village in Thomaston, Georgia where he and his family lived in the 40s and 50s.
Aubrey appeared on December 13, 2005 as a guest on John Chacon's radio program called the DAD Show on Kazi 88.7 FM in Austin, Texas. This program was streamed on the WEB. Aubrey participated in a live discussion on Holiday Blues. On 9-27-06 Aubrey was interviewed by Rhiannon Waits on her show broadcast from Seattle, Washington called Lets Talk About You. Aubrey shared some of his thoughts on Holiday Blues, Grief, and Infidelity. An article that Aubrey wrote on Rebuilding the Auchumpkee Creek Bridge was published in the Spring 2009 issue of Georgia Backroads Magazine
Aubrey has also worked at various radio stations in the central Georgia area such as WNEX, WBML, WPGA, WDEN, and WFNE. He worked at most of these stations while completing college. At WNEX he was involved in doing play by play high school football and basketball games.

He is married with two adult children. His son, Stephen Hammack is a well known Archaeologist and his daughter, Dr. Karen Petty is a Licensed Psychologist.
He has three grandboys, James 9, Thomas 8 and Sebastien.
