His protagonist, Jack Dylan, is synonymous with “private detective” along side Dashiell Hammett’s Sam Spade, Raymond Chandler’s Philip Marlowe, and Mickey Spillane’s Mike Hammer. Kinqade’s creation of the character Jack Dylan was clearly influenced by the school of hardboiled detective fiction made famous by predecessors of the genre.

To earn a living, despite his self-proclaimed lack of creative writing talent, he began writing pulp style detective fiction in January 2009. It all began with, what he calls, “The Pulp Revival Project”.
