Maggie Power - author of Lily, Porphyria's Lover and Lady Macbeth's Tale. http://www.maggiepower.com

Background Information

British novelist, writing in the fields  of  Victorian gothic and historical fiction.  Favourite writers and major influences - apart from Shakespeare - are Charlotte and Emily Bronte, Jean Rhys and Joyce Carol Oates.  Gothic novels include Lily and Porphyria's lover, published by Simon and Schuster.

My latest novel, Lady Macbeth's Tale, explores the murderous desires of Shakespeare's heroine.

 Reviews of Maggie Power's Works:

‘Power skilfully blends all the elements of Victorian melodrama: lust, power, death and decay, then adds an extra malevolent spice to the brew.’

Sunday Times

‘erotic ... compelling - dark and atmospheric ... it should light a few candles for you.’

Cosmopolitan

‘Stylish!’

Options

‘Like Browning’s poem, this is a novel with a twist ...’

Times Literary Supplement

Additional Information

Latest novel: Lady Macbeth's Tale 'Mesmerising' - Christopher Wilson, author of The Ballad of Lee Cotton.
