I am Grendetta Alice Dickerson, also known as Gwen Dickerson. I've had a long time fascination with mysticism, meditative states, the brain/mind connection, and on-going neuroscientific findings. I love the "silent" times, those times of meditative journey and observation, that set my spirit and thoughts soaring into realms of indescribable wonder. They are healing, nourishing and creative times for me that are priceless. I'm also a hopeless romantic! I love music, art and nature's awesome beauty. I think I was born with, and still have, an over-abundant supply of love, feel good, and bliss neurochemicals -- and I hope that my brain will continue to manufacture them in abundance until my death. I try to infuse my writing with descriptive energy and passion, in order to entice my readers into a greater awareness and appreciation of the ordinary melodies of life. Yet, most of all, I write for my own satisfaction. I love the process of transformation from emotion to thought -- to pen! I write as I feel and my feelings are wonderfully exciting and complex. I'm driven by an intense hunger -- a spiritual pursuit for greater self awareness and self evolvement. And yet, I'm admittedly materialistic! I love the things that money can buy -- as well as the things that money can't buy. Words like, -- bliss, passion, purpose, and quest, -- quicken my heart, stir my emotions, and fire my imagination. They excite and inspire me, perhaps, resulting from a time when my sense of purpose and was far less than it could have been -- and when my only quest was that of normal survival. Ah! I survived. I evolved. I hope I'm still evolving! My mission now is to stay my course -- maintain an inner sense of purpose, to honor life -- and God! My need is to do something -- anything I can -- that might benefit humankind. And so, amongst other things, I write -- of beauty, hope, love, pain, and death. No, I'm not afraid of death! When my time comes "to leave" -- I'd like to lie in my bed on clean fragrant linens that smell like summer rain and lavender, curl up in the fetal position, and "let go" -- "slip away" -- sighing, "Thank You God! Life was an awesome experience!" How wonderful it is to be a writer and express the passion of one's heart. I hope you enjoy reading my works as much as I have enjoyed writing them. Accomplishments: I'm healthy and happy! I have great family and friends and I am enjoying them, and my life! I'm doing the things that I love, and writing is definitely one of them! I consider these things, amongst personal others, to be my greatest achievements, awards -- and rewards!
