One day I was watching a television talk show and the guest was a woman who called herself an intuitive. She was talking about a book she had written that would help people develop their intuition. I was curious because the methods she talked about were similar to the ones that God had taught me over the years to develop my spirit. I went and purchased the book just to see if that wasn’t what she was, in essence, doing. It was! This was a woman who had learned how to develop her spirit, but unfortunately, because she was not using biblical checks and balances she was leaving herself and her reader open to hearing not just God’s Spirit, but other spirits as well.

 

I asked God, “Where is your simple book on developing our human spirit and operating in the prophetic?” He said, “Yes Marilyn, where is it?” That day I began to seriously study the prophetic, to study about what is needed to hear God speak and to develop our spirit, our discernment of what is God and what is not.

 

Not only have I studied the Bible and other books on this issue, but since 1995 I also have been privileged to attend the meetings of one of the greatest prophets of our time, Prophet Kim Clement. I have also been privileged to attend meetings the Kim Clement has hosted called, “Training for Staining” where we learned from different prophets and prophetic people how to hear God’s voice.
