I was born in 1956 and raised on a small farm in Michigan. After graduating from college with degrees in Electrical Engineering and Forestry, I elected to join the Marine Corps to become a pilot. I flew A4s, the same jet the instructors flew in the movie Top Gun. I spent seven years on active duty and eight years in the reserves, earning early retirement in 1994. In 1993, I became a pilot for Fedex, flying the B727, DC10, and MD11. Currently, I live in Montana where I am the father of two fantastic kids. My youngest child is autistic, which is why I donate to the Autism Research Institute and why I usually feature an autistic character in my books.
Although always interested in writing, I didn't start writing seriously until 1987 when I got off active duty. Like most writers, my work reflects my life experiences. Write what you know, the writing teachers teach. What I have learned over the years is life is a wonderful journey with ups and downs that offer valuable lessons. Hopefully, my writing will entertain, inspire, and foster hope and goodness. Write on!
