My mother was a great story teller and the stories I liked best were her accounts of my family history before, during and after the Civil War and the suffering they faced when Atlanta and the Georgia countryside were totally destroyed. The historical romance novel Whispering Oaks A Story about the Old South is fictional but in order to provide the setting for the story I did a large amount of research on the history of Georgia and Atlanta as well as on the Civil War. It gave me an insight into the times in which my family lived and the struggles they had to endure and the poverty and hardships they faced after the war.
I am a native of Atlanta, Georgia and moved to The Villages, Florida ten years ago. Before that I had only written in technical journals when I worked as a Chemist at DuPont, a Microbiologist at a medical device industry (Medco) and as a Microbiologist and Toxicologist at Ciba Vision (Norvartis).
Birth Place: Atlanta, GA USA
Accomplishments: I have a Chemistry and Biology degree at North Georgia College in Dahlonega, GA and worked towards my master's degree in Toxicology at Emory University in Atlanta.
